PULWAMA, Aug 2: A Gujjar and Bakerwal conference was organized at Town Hall here today. Minister for CA&PD, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali and Minister for Finance, Dr Haseeb Drabu addressed the conference.
Speaking on the occasion, Choudhary Zulfkar said that development of Gujjar and Bakerwal community alongwith other weaker sections of the society is the priority concern of the Government and present dispensation led by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is striving hard for their holistic development and socio-economic upliftment. He said the schemes aided by the Central Government in this regard need to be implemented effectively to get the desired results on the ground.
The Minister for Finance, Dr Haseeb Drabu said providing all basic amenities including roads, education, healthcare facilities and supply of electricity and drinking water is among top priorities of present Government and every possible step would be taken in this regard so that living standards of people belonging to backward and downtrodden communities is elevated.
MLA Pulwama, Mohammad Khalil Bandh, MLA Pampore, Zahoor Ahmad Mir and MLC Zaffar Iqbal Manhas also addressed the conference.
