RAMBAN, Aug 2: District Police today rescued 11 bovine animals and arrested a smuggler.
Police spokesman said that on specific information, a Police Party led by Inspector Mohd Azeem, SHO Police Station Dhamkund under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Mohd Rafiq Choudhary and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar, laid a special naka in the upper reaches of Sumbhar and stopped a person illegally taking 11 bovines on foot from Sumbhar to Kashmir valley via upper reaches of Sumbhar track.
Accordingly, bovine smuggler namely Javed Ahmed, son of Nazir Ahmed of Qazigund was arrested and under Section 188 RPC.
