Despite tense situation on border, 13 passengers cross sides in Karvan-e-Aman bus

SRINAGAR: Despite tense situation on the border due to continued ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops, 13 passengers crossed sides at the Line of Control (LoC) in the weekly Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad.

However, no guest from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) arrived here, official sources told UNI on Monday afternoon. They said only two Kashmiri residents went to PoK after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge, at Kaman Post, the last Indian military post on the LoC in Uri sector.

As many as five PoK residents, who had arrived in previous buses, also returned to their homes after completing their stay here. They included three women. They said there was no fresh guest from PoK though six Kashmiris, who had gone to the other side of the LoC in previous buses, returned after completing their stay there.  (AGENCIES)
