KATHUA, Mar 28 :Union Minister and BJP candidate for Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency, Dr Jitendra Singh while making a scathing attack on Congress said the party was opposing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and policies of his Government to restore rule of corrupt dynasts and perpetuate a loot in the country as before.
Addressing a series of BJP election meetings here today, Dr Jitendra Singh said that Congress leadership and its allies are in great desperation seeing the war launched by Narendra Modi Government against the corruption and corrupt leaders all over country including J&K. He warned that Modi Government will not spare those leaders and parties who looted the resources of the erstwhile State for decades together.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that the people of J&K suffered for over six decades due to misrule and corrupt practices of Congress and its allies who instead of working for public welfare and development of the erstwhile State indulged in promoting their dynasties with the result the common people suffered.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that the leaders of Congress had also vested interests in appeasing their political bosses from Kashmir and this was the reason that when Kashmiri leaders sabotaged the game changing Shahpur Kandi project for about four decades, the Congress leaders from this region never mustered guts to oppose this action. Had this project been taken up in hand 40 years back the shape of Kandi belt in Kathua and Samba districts would have been totally transformed, he added.
He asked the people that they have a right to ask the Congress leaders what was the reason of denying development to this region over the years. “If Shahpur Kandi could be constructed during Modi rule why it could not be taken up in hand during earlier Governments,”? he asked.
Dr Jitendra Singh said BJP is committed to make Kathua one of the developed cities of Northern India. In this regard many steps have already been taken and various projects launched. He said Kathua Medical College, Homeopathic College and Tata Hospital are few to name.
He said, while Congress leaders perpetuated in loot, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave land to the landless and also Pucca houses.
Dr Jitendra Singh said soon after taking over as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi said, “Na Khavoonga Na Khane Doonga” and all the wealth looted from the poor by the Congress leaders and their dynasties will be recovered and deposited in State exchequer to be utilised for the benefit of the needy. At the same time, Prime Minister Modi said, those who are trying to escape from action by law will also be brought to book, he added.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, as a Member of Prime Minister Modi’s team, each of the BJP Karyakarta has taken the vow to bring these looters to the book and restore their looted money to the nation.
As far as Kathua is concerned, Dr. Jitendra Singh said, the entire region was neglected by its earlier representatives because they were keen to appease their Kashmir-centric masters. As a result, this region suffered from continuous neglect and discrimination.
In the last 10 years, said Dr. Jitendra Singh, under Prime Minister Modi, Kathua witnessed maximum development among all the districts of Jammu & Kashmir. Kathua got Centrally funded Government Medical College, Centrally funded Engineering College under RUSA, Passport Office, Vande Bharat Train, North India’s first Industrial  Biotech Park, North India’s first Homeopathic College, first Seed Processing Plant, 4% reservation for youth along International Border (IB), border bunkers, Express Road Corridor from Delhi, network of roads, dozens of bridges including the important Keerian-Gandyal bridge, Juthana bridge and Atal Setu, several degree colleges and Kendriya Vidyalayas, Bamboo clusters, which gave employment to hundreds of peoples including Women Self-Help Groups, new industrial complex and much more.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said today Kathua is emerging as the central nodal point of education , health and trade from all across North India. This has been possible only because of personal indulgence of Prime Minister Modi and his third term is also going to be “Modi Ki Guarantee” for Kathua emerging as a favourite destination in North India.
Dr Jitendra Singh who addressed about 16 public meetings during his tour, was accompanied by former MLA and Minister, Rajiv Jasrotia, DDC Vice Chairperson Raghunandan Singh Babloo, BJP president, Gopal Mahajan, senior leader Janak Bharati, Prem Nath Dogra, ex Councilors, BDC members and PRIs.
