JAMMU, Feb 14: Deputy Mayor and Chairman Housing for All, JMC Advocate Purnima Sharma chaired the “Housing for All” Standing Committee meeting.
Councillors Surinder Sharma, Jagdish Kumar, Sharda Kumari, Narotam Sharma, Pritam Singh, Surinder Choudary members of the “Housing for All” standing committee along with Prem Singh ACR JMC, Tarseem Lal Thappa JCW JMC, Mohit Mahajan XEN C JMC, Arun Gupta Xen T JMC, Devinder Singh Bhau CEO JUDA, Jatinder Singh Senior Manager J&K Housing Board, Kapil Ghai SLTC J&K Housing Board and other members of the committee were also present.
During the meeting, members of the standing committee raised many issues for which directions were given by the Deputy Mayor to the concerned officials and departments on the spot.
A proposal was also put up by the ACR JMC that 5 per cent of the non-plan funds are being allotted for helping a social and genuine cause. So instead of 5 per cent atleast minimum of 10 per cent of the non-plan funds of JMC shall be kept for helping social and genuine cause. The proposal was encouraged by all the members of the committee.
Advocate Purnima Sharma, proposed that a ward wise survey by the officials of the Housing Department along with the Councillors of the concerned ward will be conducted from 17th February, so that all the issues/queries regarding the PMAY scheme of the locals of the ward may be resolved on the spot during the survey.
At the end of the meeting, Advocate Purnima Sharma along with all the members of the Standing Committee paid homage to the soldiers who were martyred in the Pulwama attack by a moment of silence.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by the ACR JMC to the chair.
