SRINAGAR, June 25: Describing the engineers as backbone of the society, Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma today said that they have significant role for developing the infrastructure of the State.
This was stated by the Minister while interacting with the delegation of All J&K In Service Diploma Engineers Association here today. The delegation led by its President Gulal Ahmad Shah projected their several demands before the Minister, which include promotion of Junior Engineer (Diploma) against newly created 272 posts of Assistant Engineers, maintenance of cadre strength as per prevailing rules and filling of vacant posts of Assistant Executive Engineers and Executive Engineers of Diploma cadre and release of Junior Engineer grade-I upto September, 2011 (back log).
Sham Lal said the Government is aware about their genuine problems and assured for their early redressal.
Another deputation from Payer, Pulwama led by Namberdar, Ghulam Mohammad also met the Minister to project their demands including irrigation, restoration of local canal and other irrigation related facilities.
Several other deputations from different areas of the State also met the Minister and put forth their local demands before the Minister.
The Minister gave patient hearing to the deputationists and individuals and said that he will take up the issues with the appropriate authorities for their immediate redressal.
Chief Engineer, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Kashmir Mir Javed Jaffer and other senior officer of concerned department were also present on the occasion.
