JAMMU, Jan 3: A deputation of Kashmiri migrants today called on Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Ch. Mohammad Ramzan and apprised him about the problems being confronted by them in different migrant camps in Jammu division.
The demands which were brought to the notice of the Minister included enhancement of ration quota to Kashmiri migrants as the present limit is insufficient. They maintained that migrant families are facing lot of hardships in view of inadequate quantity of ration supply by the CA&PD department. They requested the Minister to consider the matter on humanitarian grounds and enhance the present limit of quota to give relief of the migrant families.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputationists and assured that that Government will examine the issue on merit and take an appropriate action at the earliest.
