DODA, Oct 11: The deplor-able condition of the Kahara-Jai road has irked the people, who have threatened to gherao the office of PMGSY Thathri and district administration.
Around 20000 villagers of Malanoo, Chaba, Kencha, Halaran, Bagdair and Bhotala commute on this road to reach the tehsil or district headquarters.
During rains, it becomes almost impossible for these villagers to communicate on this road due to slippery conditions. Even the vehicles don’t ply on this road during rains so as to avoid any untoward incident.
The worst sufferers are patients, who have to travel through this life taking road to reach the hospitals to get themselves treated.
The road has turned accident prone, but Government is not taking any action to repair this road, which is lifeline of thousands of villagers, a local said while talking to the Excelsior.
He added that many times the issue regarding the repair of Kahara-Jai road has been taken up with the concerned authorities, but no remedial steps have been taken till date.
Hundreds of vehicles including ambulances ply on this road and the vehicles get stranded due to deplorable and slippery condition of the road during rains, he said.
The locals in one voice warned to launch agitation if the road is not repaired at the earliest. They also threatened to gherao the office of PMGSY Thathri and district administration.
They appealed to the authorities to take immediate steps to repair this road, so as to provide succor to the people especially ailing persons.
