JAMMU, Aug 23: The State Government has asked all public authorities to issue orders of designating officers of their departments as Public Information Officers strictly as per provisions of Section 5 of J&K RTI Act, 2009.
A circular in this regard was issued today by the GAD, according to which it has been noticed that the public authorities were issuing orders of appointing Public Information Officers in their department without even making a reference of the Section 5 of the Act, under which such designations have been ordered.
