KARGIL, Jan 17: Raising the banner of revolt against dropping Qamar Ali Akhoon from the State Cabinet during the recent reshuffle, members of the district, block and executive committees of National Conference in Kargil have announced their resignations from the party.
Besides, a large number of NC supporters in Kargil and activists of Islamia School Kargil and Anjuman-e-Shahab-e-Zaman Suru also held a protested demonstration, here today, against exit of Akhoon from the Cabinet. Raising slogans against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and in support of Qamar Ali Akhoon, they alleged a conspiracy against Shia community that was why he was ignored in the Cabinet expansion and reshuffle.
NC vice president, Kargil, Atta Mussa alias Mussa Ladakhi, who was leading the protest, served an ultimatum to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and NC high command for re-induction of Qamar Ali Akhoon in the Cabinet. “In case the demand is not conceded within 48 hours, presence of the party in Kargil will vanish,” he threatened and also appealed both the MLAs as well as MLC from Kargil to actively support the public sentiment over the issue.
Mussa Ladakhi also accused the NC of ignoring Kargil notwithstanding mass public support to the party in the district. However, the limit has been crossed now by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who excluded the most honest and sincere Minister from his Cabinet without any reason and tried to make rift within his own party on the instruction of Delhi,” he alleged.
On this Occasion, Murtaza Khalili, spokesperson of Islamia School Kargil, alleged a conspiracy against the Shia community, whose two members Qamar Ali Akhoon and Aga Syed Ruhullah were dropped from the Cabinet.
Aga Syed Abass Razvi also spoke on this occasion.
