JAMMU, Mar 27: Society of Dental Surgeons, J&K (SDSJK) President Dr Imtiyaz Banday has urged the Government to provide PPEs for medical professionals who are fighting a dreadful war against Covid-19.
“We are at forefront and that too without proper protection gears in bulk as per the protocol. Doctors and Paramedics have sacrificed their lives over the globe while handling Covid-19 crisis and this should have been an eye opener for the authorities. We are at highest risk and it seems Government is nowhere for us,” Dr Banday said.
He said how can a soldier fight without a weapon, adding that there was ample time for Government to purchase PPEs but it lost a considerable time and now when war is on their head, they are left with meagre facilities.
SDSJK has appealed Lieutenant Governor J&K, GC Murmu to intervene so that PPEs are provided in bulk to all medical employees dealing directly or indirectly with COVID-19.
