Demand for bringing holy shrines of Kishtwar on tourism map

KISHTWAR, Apr 8: Various social and non political organizations have appealed the Government to bring the holy shrines of Kishtwar district on the tourism map to promote religious and pilgrimage tourism in the area.
In a joint statement here, today they said that this step will go a long way in the development of these shrines as well as improve socio economic condition of people in the twin districts of Kishtwar and Doda.
Social Reforms and Charitable Organisations (SRCO), Founder president, Sanjeev Parihar, Kishtwar Civil Society members, Shamsher Singh Bhandari and Vikram Bhandari demanded that shrines of Machail Mata , Sarthal Devi, Ziarat Shah Asrar-ud-Din Bhagdadi Kishtwar and Hudh Mata Dachan be brought under on the tourism map. They said that the Government should take immediate steps in this regard and fulfill this long pending demand of the people of the area.
They also demanded that the special attention be paid for widening of roads leading to these shrines with providing of all other facilities. They said such a step will go a long way in development of the far-flung areas of twin districts of Doda and Kishtwar as well.
