Delhi thrashes J&K by 129 runs in U-23 Women tourney

JAMMU, Feb 23: Delhi women defeated their counterparts from Jammu and Kashmir by a big margin of 129 runs in the Womens Cricket Under-23 Zonal League One Day Limited Overs Cricket Tournament at Sehwag International School, Jhajjar in Haryana.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Delhi rode on a superb unbeaten century (124*) by opener Priya Punia, studded with 12 boundaries to score a decent total of 246 runs in the stipulated 50 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Arushi Goel also contributed valuable 31 runs to the total. Bushra Ashraf took 3 wickets for J&K, while Aditi Aryan bagged 2 wickets. Skipper Rubia Syed and Nadia Choudhary claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, J&K bundled out for 117 runs in 38.1 overs. Rubia Syed was the top scorer with 42 runs off 89 balls including 5 fours and 1 six, while Bushra Ashraf and Sanjana contributed 16 and 11 runs to the total respectively. Kirti Arya scalped 4 important wickets, while Arushi Soni claimed 2 wickets.
