Delhi students visit Nagrota, interact with GOC

JAMMU, Mar 18: Ten girl students and one teacher of Bharti College, New Delhi, interacted with General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps at Nagrota, today.
These students, also NCC Senior Wing Cadets, were on a week-long tour to Jammu and Kashmir, organized by the Reasi based Rashtriya Rifles Force. The tour was to learn about the people and culture of the State and interact with civil administration, youth and students.
During the tour, the cadets interacted with their counterparts at Degree College, Polytechnic Institute, Ankur Orphanage and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Reasi and various Government schools at Kalakote, Jhangar and Agar Jitto.
There they shared views with students and enriched them with the education avenues that await them, especially for girl students, through structured talks. The tour team also had an opportunity to interact with the youth to learn about their aspirations and exposed them to promising career options. The cadets also took time for leisure to visit the picturesque sites of tourist attraction, which included Siyhar Baba waterfalls, Sulla Park and also enjoyed rafting in the Chenab river.
They had first hand experience of interacting with the soldiers. Sharing her experiences on the occasion, one cadet remarked, “It was an educative tour where we not only learnt the rich culture and traditions of J & K but were also enriched by the heart to heart interactions with the youth and students. We will carry home with us cherished memories of J & K and our stay with the Army at Reasi.
