JAMMU, Apr 22: A delegation of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) led by Ganesh Khajuria, Forum chairman met Director School Education (DSE) Jammu, Ravi Shankar Sharma and raised the problem being faced by the teaching community due to the recent order by higher authorities regarding door-to-door survey of unemployed youths to be conducted by the teaching staff including female teachers.
The delegation members stated that authorities at the helm issued directions through respective Zonal Education Officers that the survey/compilation of data should be done after school hours by door-to-door visit of every household which is not possible for female teachers after school hours as they are prone to risks from certain anti-social elements.
“Also many of the female teachers are above 50 years of age and suffer from health issues,” the delegation mentioned.
Ganesh Khajuria urged upon the higher authorities to reconsider the issue and exempt female teachers from these surveys and compilation of data of unemployed youths.
The Director School Education assured the delegation to take appropriate measures in the matter.
S. Surat Singh, Kuldeep Bandral, P.D Singh and Jatinder Singh were present in the delegation.
