JAMMU, Oct 22: A delegation of private schools from the Jammu division called on Justice (Retd.) Sunil Hali, Chairperson Fee Fixation and Regulation Committee (FFRC), here today.
Chairman Sunil Hali made it clear to delegation that charging annual fees and tuition fee without prior approval from the Fee Fixation and Regulation Committee (FFRC) is illegal and penalties including a fine up to Rs 100,000 or de-recognition may be imposed on all such schools.
Schools are required to obtain proper approval for their fees before the commencement of new academic session i.e. before April 01, 2026, he added.
President of the Association, Ajay Gupta said that FFRC has failed to Fix and Regulate the fee of numerous files which have been submitted along with processing since long. On the one hand, all the rules have been made by the School Education Department and FFRC for the recognized schools whereas on the other hand all Pre-Primary schools/ centers have been left unbridled by ignoring all provisions devised in SRO123 of 2010 for the recognition/ registration of schools functioning from class Pre- Primary to 12th in the JKUT, he added.
Members alleged step-motherly treatment with the recognized private schools and demanded implementation of all Rules to all the schools functioning from Pre- Primary to 12th to control the disparities in JKUT.
The Chairperson Justice (Retd) Sunil Hali, (FFRC) assured quick disposal of all files which have been laying pending in his office since long.
Those who accompanied the delegation included Sat Paul Mansotra, Siddheshwar Sadotra, Sanjeev Luthra, Lal Chand, Parshotram Bhardwaj, Rajeev Singh Jasreotia, Rakesh Gupta, Parshant Salaria, Siddharth Shamker, Thomas Omman and Ram Parkash.
