JAMMU, Mar 4: A delegation of Vision Kashmir and Kashmiri migrants unemployed Over aged youth and relief holders under the leadership of Sunil Fotedar called on Secretary, Relief and Rehabilitation, Simrandeep Singh here, today and apprised him of the problems being faced by them after being ignored by successive Governments since forced exodus of Hindu minorities from the Valley.
The delegation also submitted a memorandum to Secretary Relief and Revenue highlighting their demands which among other issues stressed on enhancement if monthly cash relief, providing of soft loans to unemployed over-aged youth to undertake self employment ventures and implementation of Modi Government’s welfare schemes like Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna for relief holders who have been deprived and ignored while implementing these schemes and forced to live a life of misery and penury.
The delegation, while stressing on enhancement of cash assistance said that due to highly volatile market index it is extremely difficult to manage the daily basic needs with present cash dispensation which at present time is highly insufficient to meet their essential needs viz a viz household expenditure, children education expenditure, medicare expenditure, electricity bills etc. It demanded enhancement of cash relief at Rs 5000 per soul per month.
Demanding the bringing of unemployed displaced youth under the ambit of Centrally sponsored entrepreneurship schemes, the delegation said that they have no source of income hence they be also given benefit of all Central welfare schemes or be provided soft loans for setting up income generating units.
The Secretary Relief informed the delegation that Government welfare schemes will be implemented soon for relief holders. The delegation also expressed the hope that their genuine demands will be given due redressal by the authorities.
The other members of delegates included Ramesh Sopori, Anil Matoo, Bushan Koul, Sanjay Chowgami, Sanjay Zutshi, Sunil Pandita, Vinod Koul, Vikram Razdan, Kaka Ji etc.
