JAMMU, June 29: A delegation of public representatives from Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) led by Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, JMC today called on the Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan and apprised him of their concerning issues.
The Mayor accompanied by Adv. Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor, JMC; Baldev Singh Billawaria, Suraj Padha & Jeet Angral- Chairpersons of JMC Standing Committees and Parmod Kapahi, Councillor JMC apprised the Lt Governor about the overall functioning of JMC and the activities undertaken by the Municipal Corporation on the developmental front, besides status of major developmental projects.
The Lt Governor, while interacting with the members of the delegation, observed that the Government is committed to strengthen the grass root institutions of democratic setup. He advised them to take all the necessary measures to ensure efficient delivery of public services by the JMC and to develop a robust mechanism for the revenue generation, besides maintaining hygiene in public places and ensuring round the clock provision of basic civic amenities to the people.
The Lt Governor also assured the delegation that all the genuine demands and issues put forth by them would be looked into meticulously for their early redressal.
Daleep Singh Parihar, former MLA also called on the Lieutenant Governor and apprised him about various issues of public importance of Bhaderwah area pertaining to strengthening of road network, education facilities etc.
The Lt Governor assured Parihar to take up the genuine issues and demands projected by him for examination and their early redressal and urged him to continue his endeavours for the growth and advancement of his area, on all fronts.
