It has been reported that Artificial lake project in the Tawi is getting delayed on the pretext of paucity of funds. This development has irritated Jammuites, particularly those associated with tourism industry. The project was a part of beautification process of the Jammu city.
The project, if completed, would have been an another attraction for the lakhs of pilgrims and tourists visiting the City of Temples every year. Besides, it would have been an excellent recreational sport for the people living in and around the city.
The stakeholders have rightly expressed their resentment against delay.
The Government should not let paucity of funds become a hurdle in completing the project. Rather funds should be arranged on priority basis for it to come into existence.
The city is already facing many problems like water logging, and sewerage problems. As the city is growing. So are it needs. These needs should be identified and redressed at the earliest.
