Delay in Devika rejuvenation project

Sir,
Please refer to DE news item “Uncertainty prevails over early start of work on Rs 172 cr Devika Rejuvenation Project” DE Mar 21, 2018. In this connection it is submitted that with the blessings of Lord Shiva the Holy Devika originates from the foot hills of Dhar Shivgarh in Sudhmahadev area. This sacred rivulet is held in very high esteem by the people of Duggar Pradesh wherever it flows. Present Government of India was kind enough to sanction Rs 172.73 cr grant to restore the sanctity of this Holy River but the project is being delayed due to unknown reasons. The Government of India is again requested to fix a time frame for the completion of this most important project which is directly linked to sentiments of crores of people and it is also a question of revival of an ancient river for the benefit of general masses. As requested earlier also, the project should start from Sudhmahadev area  wherefrom  this sacred river originates. There is a large scale encroachment on banks of this river in Sudhmahadev area. So revised DPR should be prepared by taking into  consideration two things. Firstly, the holy water should be traced out in the nearby Gangera Hills or it should be lifted from Benisangam (Sudhmahadev)  to Udhampur through pipes and  an artificial waterfall should be constructed around Udhampur and the spot should be beautified for religious pilgrimage.
The encroachments should be removed from Devika banks as per Revenue record. Special Task Force should be created to speed up work on rejuvenation of River Devika.
The force should focus on two projects sanctioned for Mantalai and Devika Udhampur. MOS in PMO Dr Jatendra Singh has taken keen interest to get these projects sanctioned and  it is requested that both these projects be completed as early as possible for over all  development of this area.
Yours etc…
