JAMMU, Dec 17: Joint Action Committee (General Category) has demanded prompt and expeditious response from the Government defending the High Court (HC) judgment on ‘No Reservation in Promotion’.
Addressing a press conference, Narayan Singh, President, Rajput Sabha said that the judgment of the High Court on ‘No Reservation in Promotion’ has been challenged in Supreme Court.
He said that Supreme Court was pleaded to pass a ‘Status Quo, as of today” order on December 14, 2015, adding that in some segment of media, “Status Quo, as of today” order has been miss-reported as “Stay” of judgment.
He informed that the judgment has two major parts–striking down the aforesaid provision of Reservation Act and Rules and quashing of promotion orders impugned in the bunch of writ petitions.
Singh said that the Government should appreciate that major chunk of Government employees belong to general category and anything contrary or against such a huge, intellectual and performing intelligentsia will invite wide spread public wrath.
Among others present were Ved Prakash Sharma, President, Brahmin Pratinidhi Sabha, Vinod Gupta, President, Central Mahajan Sabha, Verinder Jain, President, Jain Sabha, Anup Mittal, President, Aggarwal Sabha, Baldev Khullar, President, Raghunath Bazaar Association, Retd Prof NN Sharma, Ex-Secretary, JKBOSE, etc.
