Mr. Slathia in his address, referred to the people-friendly initiatives taken by the Omar led Government with an avowed objective of restoring peace and ensuring faster development across the state.
He particularly made a mention of schemes taken for women empowerment, addressing the vexed issue of unemployment and making the administration more responsive to urges and aspirations of the people.

He sought a decisive mandate for the alliance candidate Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Former Minister R.S Chib while addressing the workers, called for massive mandate to Ghulam Nabi Azad saying vote to alliance candidate will be endorsement of the policies and programmes being pursued by Congress and National Conference for welfare and betterment of the people. He said this process has to be continued with renewed vigour.
The senior leaders of the two parties referred to the political gimmickry of BJP and PDP, saying they were hand in glove to destabilize the secular forces in order to carry forward their agenda by dividing the people on communal and regional lines.
