KATHUA, Aug 19: Kathua District Rifle Association today conducted 5th Kathua District Shooting Championship in Sub-Junior, Youth, Junior and Senior (Boys and Girls) Category in which around 80 shooters from various schools/institutions participated.
In Sub-Junior Pistol (Girls), Deepika Sharma won gold, Shivani got silver and Mehak won bronze while in Youth Pistol (Boys), Suraj Puniya claimed gold, Ajay Singh got silver and Anupam Sharma secured bronze.
In Sub-Junior Rifle (Girls), Janvi Puniya and Simran won gold, Vishali got silver and Mohini settled for bronze while in Sub-Junior Rifle (Boys), Karun got gold, Deevansh won silver and Jayesh Jasrotia settled for bronze.
In Youth Rifle (Girls), Kritika excelled with gold, Tanisha got silver and Manvi won bronze whereas in Youth Rifle (Boys), Harshpal got gold, Ashish Kumar won silver and Arun Kumar settled for bronze.
In Senior Rifle (Women), Sarita won gold and Rajni got silver while in Senior Rifle (Men), Rajan excelled with gold, Vishal won silver and Deepak got bronze.
The medals to the winners were awarded by Mohan Lal, SSP Kathua. Among others present on the occasion were Kuldeep Jamwal, senior vice president, JKRA, VS Pathania, Executive Member JKRA, Samar Dev Singh Charak, general secretary, General Zorawar Singh Shooting Club, Paramjeet Singh, general secretary, Baramulla District Rifle Association and Sharat Chander Singh, general secretary, Kathua District Rifle Association.
