Decomposed male body recovered

JAMMU, Oct 24: The decomposed dead body of an unknown man of age about 25-30 years was recovered today from Trikuta Nagar area of city outskirts.
“On getting information from some reliable sources this afternoon that a dead body is lying amid bushes at a vacant JDA land behind Shiv Market and opposite to the office of Transport Commissioner, a police party along with a team of FSL reached the spot. After photography and videography of the crime scene and collection of evidences by the FSL team, the body (which had decomposed into a skeleton) was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for identification/postmortem,” Inspector Bishnesh Sharma, SHO, police station Trikuta Nagar said.
The SHO said that the body was totally decomposed and it seems to be about 15 days old. He said the deceased was wearing a yellow-coloured T-shirt and blue-coloured jeans with stains of paint on it and on the basis of the clothes, it seems that the deceased is a male. He further informed that the deceased is about 5 feet 6 inches tall.
The officer said prima facie it appears to be a murder case but real picture will be cleared after the outcome of the postmortem report and identification of the deceased. However, meanwhile inquest proceeding under 174 crPC has been initiated in this connection at police station Trikuta Nagar.
