DODA, Oct 8: With its focus on enhancing the electoral registration in the ongoing Special summary revision in the district, District Information Centre Doda in collaboration with District Election Office and under the supervision of District Election Officer Doda , Bhupinder Kumar organized a declamation contest on the theme Electoral Registration and Electoral Participation in Government Higher Secondary school (Girls) Doda.
Girls students from different classes participated in the contest in which the first, second and third prizes went to Kajal of class 11th, Palvi of class 11th and Mehak of class 12th respectively.
District Information Officer Doda (Nodal Officer SVEEP) Anoop Kumar, Tehsildar Doda Nasir Ali besides senior lecturers of the institution also spoke on the topic.
Tehsildar Doda apprised that a special camp for the registration of school children will be organized in GHSS (Girls) Doda where on spot forms of the eligible voters will be filled for their registration in the rolls.
Awareness was also imparted to the participating students regarding the ongoing process of special summary revision and they were appealed to educate and sensitize their near and dear ones so that they come out and register themselves as voters. Light was also thrown on the various forms to be filled for addition, deletion, correction and transposition of their names in electoral roll and the formalities to be submitted for the same.
