MENDHAR, Jan 2: The family members of 28-year old woman who died after she was given wrong injection at a Chemist shop in Mendhar on December 8, held silent protest dharna at Shahidi Yadgar here today.
The husband of the deceased woman, Gulshan Kouser along with his five children sat on dharna at the `Shahidi Sthal’ to lodge their protest against the District Administration and State Health Department for their failure to take action against the culprits. They demanded that action under law should be taken against the doctor of Mendhar hospital and chemist who gave injection to Parveen resulting into her death. They were demanding action against Dr Tejinder and owner and employee of Majid Medical Hall, Mendhar.
Despite inquiry by the CMO Poonch, no action has been taken so far against accused persons. Even the police has not entertained an FIR so far despite directions by DC Poonch M H Malik. Later, on the assurance of Tehsildar Mendhar, the family lifted dharna. The family alleged that some policemen and a few officials of the Health department were exerting pressure on them for the compromise.
