Deaf & dumb students excel in 12th class result

JAMMU, June 11: The deaf & dumb students of the School for Hearing Handicapped, Jammu have once again excelled in 12th class, result of which was declared by the J&K Board of School Education last evening.
The School has once again registered cent percent result with all the 15 Divyang students declared pass.
Deepti Pandit topped Deaf & Dumb students with 75.8 percent marks and distinction. Eleven other Divyang students secured first division. Even in the middle class result declared earlier, Divyang students had achieved cent percent result. Nattika Sharma topped the school with 85% marks. For the last seven years, the school is registering cent percent results.
Meanwhile, deaf and dumb boy Ritesh Sambyal of Samba secured 71 percent marks in 12th class exams.
K B Jandial, President of J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra, which runs this school, has lauded the hard work put in by the divyang students, their parents & teachers of the school and congratulated the students.
The management has been motivating divyang alumni of the school to go for higher education by providing fifty percent of their semester fee out of a separate fund created for the purpose. Four such alumni have taken benefit of this scheme. One has done MCA & two have done BCA.
One of them, Vaishali Raina has done diploma in Indian Sign language, first divyang of J&K to do it. Sign Language is registered as 16th language of India. This is rare recognition of her qualification.
