De-silting to be completed before monsoon: Jamwal

JAMMU, June 30: Chairman Public Health and Sanitation Committee of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Narinder Singh Jamwal today reviewed the ongoing de-silting work of Nallahs at Shakti Nagar.
Taking stock of the ongoing de-silting works, Jamwal directed the concerned supervisor to remain present at the spot of work execution till the works get completed.
Speaking on the occasion the Chairman said that de-silting work of all Nallahs falling within the jurisdiction of JMC would be completed before the onset of monsoon.
He sought cooperation of the people to make Jammu city neat and clean.
Jamwal expressed concern over some people turning the Nallahs into garbage dumps thereby making de-silting work cumbersome.
He said that such people create problems for others as during rainy season garbage in the Nallah blocks it rain water gets enters residential houses causing damage.
The Chairman asked the people to be responsible and refrain from throwing unwanted material in to Nallahs.
