DDC visits Kheer Bhawani, reviews arrangements

GANDERBAL, May 29: District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Tariq Hussain Ganai, today paid a visit to Kheer Bhawani Shrine to review the arrangements put in place for smooth conduct of the forthcoming Mela.
The DDC was briefed about the preparedness of the district administration for the upcoming Mela and was informed that a foolproof mechanism would be in place to ensure that the devotees get all necessary facilities for performing religious rituals.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the concerned officers to be proactive and make every possible effort for smooth conduct of the Mela Kheer Bhawani. He asked the officers to maintain close coordination so that all possible facilities are made available to the devotees during the festival.
He directed the concerned authorities to ensure proper cleanliness in and around the shrine complex where thousands of Kashmiri Pandits are expected to pay obeisance at the temple.
He also went around the shrine complex and took stock of the arrangements being made by the administration for the pilgrims. He directed the officers to ensure that devotees do not face any sort of inconvenience.
Officers of R&B, PHE, PDD, Police, Municipal Committee, Health, CAPD and other departments accompanied the DDC.
