DODA, May 29: District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode, conducted an extensive tour of Kastigarh Tehsil to take stock of ongoing development works in the area besides assessing grievances raised by the BDC Chairman and Sarpanchs.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held on various important projects besides several significant decisions were taken up regarding public movement in the district from the upper passes amid COVID lockdown.
While discussing the movement of people from the upper passes and areas of adjoining district which can be harmful in view of the ongoing Coronavirus threat, DDC directed the police officers to identify these routes from where people can easily sneak into the territory of the district without proper check and establish strict police nakkas at these routes so that no one can be allowed to enter the territory without proper screening.
During review of progress on various road projects, BDC Chairman and the Sarpanchs highlighted various existing roads including Banjar Morh Shamthi road and Assar to Chill road which require improvement. They also demanded blacktopping on various roads including Saras Kastigarh road via Main market, Chill Gagla road, Ganika Kidal road and Challi Dhandal road via Kuddhar at the earliest. Also, a number of link roads were proposed for construction by the PRI members.
Meanwhile, DDC directed the PWD to remove the craddle box from the Chill area and to fix the same at Bemina-Laloor so that immediate access shall be provided to the people of the concerned area.
DDC also inspected NTPHC at Kastigarh and took stock of the facilities available in the health institution He directed the concerned to ensure that basic first aid medicines and other important items shall remain available 24*7. He asked the PWD department to provide motorable link road to NTPHC within shortest possible time.
Besides, a number of issues were raised during the meeting which inter alia included installation of electric poles and metres, start of PHE schemes, completion of B2V works, payment of land acquisition compensation, restoration of Kastigarh khul, shortage of staff in health, revenue and education department, unscheduled power cuts etc.
DDC assured that all these issues would be addressed on priority.
