RAJOURI, Dec 31: Deepening further the massive outreach initiative of district administration, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rajouri, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today listened to the public issues in a public meeting at Sunderbani.
SDM Sunderbani Gopal Singh, Addl. SP Nowshera Master Popsy, DSWO Abdul Khabir besides other officers of district administration were present in the meeting.
People drawn from various sections of society including social activists, ex-Sarpanchs and Panchs, prominent citizens and common masses from Sunderbani and adjoining areas participated in the meeting and informed the DDC about developmental issues of their respective areas.
A number of important issues like macadamisation of main, inner link roads, up-gradation of schools, installation of electric poles, wires and transformers, removal of encroachments within municipal limits, installation of street lights besides formulation of a comprehensive plan for decongestion of the town with special emphasis for provision of parking spaces were raised by the public.
The DDC directed the concerned officers to address the issues of the public in a time bound manner. He assured the people that the issues raised in the Darbar will be given priority, adding that the administration is already working as per the directions of CM for resolving these issues.
SDM Sunderbani was asked to take stringent action against the encroachers of State land and ensure that all encroachments within municipal limits are removed as soon as possible so that the State land can be utilised for public cause.
The DDC directed for immediate steps to establish conference hall for Sunderbani, public parks and library besides to start drive for removal of bottlenecks in various projects particularly circular road. He also informed that special power line will be provided to SDH Sunderbani.
Earlier, Dr. Shahid inspected the construction work on the building of Government Degree College Sunderbani. Strict directions were given to the concerned for timely completion of the project to avoid cost escalation apart from directions for ensuring the quality of work. He also inspected the main market of Sunderbani town to review preparedness for removal of encroachments and also visited spots already identified for parking.
