Project wise weekly target set

UDHAMPUR, Aug 21: In order to review the progress achieved under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) sector in the district today, District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla convened a meeting with officers of Revenue and PMGSY Departments here.
Threadbare discussions were held on various issues which include physical/financial progress, status of hot mixing plant, black topping, forest clearance issues, felling of trees, land acquisition, compensation etc were discussed in detail.
At the outset, SE PMGSY, Ajay Kumar Raju gave brief about the progress of various developmental projects being executed in PMGSY sector in the district.
Dr Singla extensive road wise review of all PMGSY projects and directed the concerned authorities to expedite the progress of work and achieve the targets set by the Government within given timeline. During the meeting, sub division wise targets and achievements were also discussed and the DDC asked the concerned AEEs to enhance the progress on priority.
He also asked the PMGSY department to submit road wise fortnightly progress in his office without failure. PMGSY authorities were asked to fix the target and complete the execution work on 450 km out of 800 kilometers by 31st October. He directed the concerned authorities to set the month wise target of 150 km progress for these roads.
The SDMs were asked to review the progress of PMGSY works on fortnightly basis in their respective divisions. The DDC impressed upon the officers to work with zeal and dedication to achieve the set targets during the current financial year and also stressed on close monitoring of ongoing works to ensure quality and adherence to timelines.
The DDC directed the concerned authorities for resolving the pendency of issues and removing bottlenecks if any on priority so that execution of roads and projects shall not be delayed. He further instructed the officers to monitor the pace of work on regular basis and take care of existing public utilities. He said that these public projects cannot be delayed at any cost.
Among others, Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Vikar Giri, All SDMs, Executive Engineers PMGSY Divisions, AEEs and other officers of concerned departments were present in the meeting.
