JAMMU, Aug 21: Union Ministry of Education has selected two teachers from Jammu & Kashmir and one from the UT of Ladakh for National Awards, 2020.
The teachers selected from J&K are Sunil Kumar of Government Middle School, Jakhar, Upper Primary Tikri (Udhampur) and Rooohi Sultana of BMS Kashiportailbal, Gulab Bagh (Srinagar) while Sonam Gyaltsan, Head Teacher, Middle School Taknak Sakti, Kharu (Leh-Ladakh) has been selected from Ladakh.
The names of about 153 teachers from all over India were recommended by an Independent Jury constituted by Union Ministry of Education, Department of School Education & Literacy for the awards and the same was approved today by the Education Minister.
Meanwhile, Director School Education, Anuradha Gupta in a tweet said, “Matter of great pride for the Deptt. Of School Education, J&K. Two teachers Mr Sunil Kumar, GMS Jakhar, UPS Tikri Udh & Ms Rooohi Sultana, BMS Kashiportailbal, Srinagar J&K selected for National Award for Teachers 2020”.
