DDC reviews developmental works

RAMBAN, Feb 9: A threadbare review of developmental works carried out under various flagship schemes of Rural Development Department was today taken in meeting held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Ramban, M H Malik
The meeting was attended by ADDC, ACD, DPO, XEn- REW and BDOs of all the blocks of the district.
The DDC was told that under MGNREGA during the current financial year, employment was provided to 21954 families by making an expenditure of Rs 40.29 cr till ending January 2014. During the current financial year out of 3805 approved works 1005 have been completed and 2169 works are at different stages and are targeted for completion by the end of current financial year. A total of 7.27 lakhs person days have been generated and job card were provided to 32307 persons during the financial year under progress.
Under IAY, the meeting was told that against the target of 372 new IAY houses and 19 SOS houses, 351new houses are at different stages of completion and are expected to be completed by the end of current financial year and 19 SOS IAY houses have been completed till date.
An amount of Rs 10.88 cr. under BRGF has been released and all the works are going on smoothly some of which are being carried out in convergence with other departments. The DDC was apprised that 67 Panchyatghars have been identified for construction out of which 28 shall be completed soon.
Meanwhile, DDC visited the Fish Farm at Karol for taking stock of the developmental works going on in the farm. It will be pertinent to mention here that the farm has been recently conceived and is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 96.97 lakhs. World renowned “rainbow Trout” fish is being reared in the farm and the department expects a good production of the fish by the current financial year. The DDC was accompanied by ADDC and AD Fishries Ramban on this occasion. DDC instructed the concerned officers to project the left out work under BRGF in the fish farm so that the construction work can be expedited and completed at an earliest.
