REASI, May 1: District Development Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan chaired a meeting to oversee the progress of National Highway projects within Reasi district. The meeting served as a platform for a comprehensive examination of the ongoing work on significant infrastructural endeavors, notably the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway and the Akhnoor-Poonch National Highway.
During the meeting, it was informed that substantial progress has been achieved across all executed packages of the projects. DDC issued directives to swiftly disburse land acquisition compensation within a stipulated timeframe, ensuring that potential delays are minimized. He urged officers to proactively resolve land-related issues to facilitate the seamless execution of these crucial road projects.
Furthermore, the meeting underscored significant advancements in resolving most land-related issues, while emphasizing the need for continued communication between NHAI officers and the district administration to promptly tackle any remaining hurdles. NHAI was specifically instructed to accelerate the construction pace of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway and BRO for Akhnoor-Poonch National Highway, ensuring its timely completion for the benefit of the community.
In addition to these directives, Xen PWD Reasi was tasked with ensuring the regular maintenance of the road from Katra to Reasi to facilitate smooth vehicular movements. It was also noted that the widening and blacktopping of the Ransoo Road are currently in progress and are slated for completion by the month of August.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of works on BMG and RAM roads connecting Reasi and Budhal to farthest corners in Mahore.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning Narinder Kumar, DFOs Reasi and Mahore, OC 110 RCC (GREF)Aditya Sharma, XENs PWD Reasi and Katra and other concerned officer. ACR Reasi, SDM Katra and Mahore connected through virtual mode.
