DDC Rajouri takes stock of public grievances

Rajouri, Mar 17: To take first-hand account of the public grievances at their doorsteps, the District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today visited Darhal.
Additional SP, Liyaqat Chowdhury; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SE PWD, Shahid Latief; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; DFO Rajouri, Arshdeep; CEO Education Gulzar Hussain; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; DPO, Chander Kant Bhagat; CMO, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; Executive Engineers of the PWD, Jal Shakti, PDD, PMGSY, REW, I&FC besides other district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.
BDC Chairperson Darhal, Mohd Aslam Malik; DDC Member Darhal, Mohd Iqbal Malik; Sarpanches, Panches and people from all walks of life participated in the programme.
Specific issues projected on the occasion include paucity of staff in the sub-district hospital at Darhal, repair, renovation and blacktopping of some roads, the establishment of fruit and vegetables Mandi, completion of work on buildings of PWD Dak Bungalow and Revenue Complex, the opening of Kendriya Vidyalaya, sanctioning of emergency and fire service station, sanctioning of State Bank branch etc.
The other issues include the establishment of Munsif Court at Darhal, shortage of electricity poles, old age and widow pension, sanctioning of PHC at Malut, up-gradation of MS Malut to HS, sanctioning of additional Anganwadi centres, construction of fish pond at Rakiban, construction of road from Plunger to Lower Badanu, construction of building for PS Nadian-A, repair and renovation of some Government buildings of health, education and other departments besides other related issues were raised during the programme.
The public also demanded conducting a fresh survey under PMGSY-IV forward to ward connectivity in the rural areas of the block, the opening of sectoral offices, inclusion of the eligible beneficiaries under PMAY scheme, construction of a mini sports stadium at Malut, organising special awareness camps at panchayat level to aware the public about various centric and UT Government schemes, provision of additional electricity transformers, construction of road from Khoriwali to Reenawali, construction of road from Ujan to Khrad etc.
The DDC gave a patient hearing and assured them that all their issues and demands will be taken up with the concerned authorities for time-bound redressal.
DDC informed that the District Administration is taking concrete measures to ensure the smooth services to the public and asked them to bring in the notice of the District Administration their issues and demands through Lokmitra who are working as eyes and ears of the Government.
