RAJOURI, Sept 17: District Development Commissioner Rajouri Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to review the implementation of the District Skill Development Plan to evaluate the skill gaps and to deliberate upon the road map for meeting the skill requirements in the district.
The meeting was attended by CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; GM DIC, Ashwani Sharma; Dy Director Employment, Qadeer Ul Rehman; Chief Agriculture Officer, Sohan Singh; LDM, Jyoti Parkash; AD fisheries, Munish; Dy Registrar Cooperatives, Antar Singh; DHO, Shafqat Mir and other concerned officers.
While addressing the meeting, the DDC said that the skill development of youth is a priority of the Government and many initiatives are being taken in this regard. “The focus of the Skill Development Plan is to ensure the creation of a robust skill environment in the district which will enable the youth to get maximum skilling opportunities and enhanced job opportunities within the district” he added.
He asked the concerned officers to take effective measures and train the maximum unemployed youth of the district in different trades as per the requirement of the schemes.
Stressing on up-skilling of the youth, the DDC asked the concerned officers to explore new modalities to hone the ability of the talented youth of the district by taking skill development to the grassroots level.
He further asked the concerned officers to put all their efforts into upgrading the skill sets of the youth according to the needs of the market and make them ready for future jobs.
The DDC also directed the concerned officers to work with utmost dedication to ensure the employment of youth by way of imparting requisite proficiency.
DDC also reviewed department-wise the initiative/ approach adopted to train the Youth under different trades.
