JAMMU, Dec 11: Former Minister and senior BJP leader Bali Bhagat asserted that the District Development Council (DDC) polls are a fight between the nationalist ideology of Pt Prem Nath Dogra and separatist thinking of Valley based political parties who deprived people of their due rights for the last seventy years.
While addressing public meetings in Pargwal area in support of Suraj Singh Bahu, BJP candidate for Khour territorial constituency, the senior BJP leader said NC and PDP has played card of regionalism and religion to create division among the people, adding that they never bothered to give equal rights to Gujjars, Bakerwals, women and weaker sections of the society while they never extended the benefits of Panchayati Raj in J&K due to which the democracy at grass root level failed to prosper here till now.
He said that by abrogating Articles 370 and 35A Prime Minister Narendra Modi has offered a befitting tribute to Dr Shyama Parshad Mookerjee’s nationalistic ideology, adding that with the repealing of these draconian articles Modi has set into motion a new beginning for the people of J&K.
He asserted that on one side there are parties which have been exposed badly for continuously deceiving the common masses for years together and on the other it is BJP which has a cadre from top to bottom working day and night only to satiate the aspirations of people and addressing their issues which were earlier disregarded and misused for petty political gains by dynastic rulers.
Bali Bhagat said that people should rest assure that BJP never discriminates between communities. He said that it is time to shun Congress, NC and PDP as these parties have already played spoil sport and dented the image of erstwhile State of J&K by betraying people continuously for over 70 years.
Bhagat also addressed series of public meetings at villages Pargawal Kulein, Sarwal Kulein, Gaker Pini and Marh Kulein in Khour DDC territorial constituency.
