DDC Kathua reviews developmental scenario

KATHUA, July 21: District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Rohit Khajuria today reviewed various developmental projects being executed under different sectors in the district.
The DDC exhorted the officers to ensure time bound completion of all ongoing developmental works and called for work in double-shifts to achieve set physical and financial targets.
On the occasion, the DDC was informed that in PMGSY sector, 154 schemes have been sanctioned under different phases out of which 67 schemes are completed in the district. For 17 schemes which are pending for want of forest clearance, DDC immediately directed the concerned Executive Engineers to ensure forest clearance for early execution. He further directed the concerned Engineers to initiate the tendering process of schemes which were sanctioned in the year 2018-19.
Executive Engineer, Ground Water Division Jammu apprised the DDC that during the year 2017-18, 146 hand pumps were installed in water stressed areas of the district under Capex Budget besides in the year 2018-19, 5 hand pumps for each constituency were sanctioned. DDC directed the Executive Engineer, Ground Water and PHE Mechanical to identify other water stressed locations and submit the list within week‘s time.
While reviewing the functioning of Youth and Sports sector, DDC directed the concerned officer to prepare a plan for implementation of ‘Sports for Peace & Development’, a vertical scheme of Khelo India 2018-19 in order to achieve the objective of the scheme.
