JAMMU, May 31: Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Simrandeep Singh today convened a meeting to discuss arrangements for holy month of Ramzan.
Senior officers of police and civil administration besides representatives of various religious organizations were present in the meeting.
The DDC held threadbare discussion with the representatives who apprised him of their demands related to uninterrupted water and power supply besides improving sanitation and strict check on quality and rates of essentials.
Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to ensure that adequate arrangements are put in place to provide better amenities during the month of Ramzan.
He asked Jammu Municipal Corporation to intensify sanitation works and ensure cleanliness around the Mosque and Eidgahs. He also directed to repair the damaged street lights.
The DDC directed JMC and CAPD to work in synergy to carry out market checks and monitor quality of edibles like mutton and poultry besides keeping a strict vigil over rates of commodities. He asked the concerned officers of CAPD to ensure adequate supply of ration during Ramzan.
Simrandeep Singh asked PDD to ensure uninterrupted power supply especially during Sehri and Iftar besides directing PHE to ensure adequate supply of water so that people don’t face inconvenience on this account.
