UDHAMPUR, May 27: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary convened a meeting of all district and sectoral officers to review the functioning of departments and setting up mechanism for efficient public grievance redressal system as well as eliciting greater public participation in developmental works.
DDC directed the officials to remain available at station, ensure regularity and punctuality in field offices, establishing fast communication mechanism, following timeline of grievance redressal and developmental works, maintenance of essential services & supplies, making Public Service Guarantee Act a success and involvement of public in developmental process.
He directed for immediate compilation of issues related to land disputes halting construction works; court cases and departmental enquiries. Departments have been asked to furnish complete list of departmental lands, assets, works and infrastructure for optimum utilization.
District Officers have been directed to work under convergence model for inter-sectoral works. Stress will be laid on effective Information Education and Communication campaign in the district for greater dissemination of information and public to ensure wider participation. The DDC directed that stringent action will be initiated against delinquent and non-performing officers while rewarding the efficient officers. He also called for improvement in public service delivery and strengthening of panchayats.
DDC impressed upon officers to revamp the field officers and strengthen inter-departmental coordination for better public service. He asked the officers to come up with departmental issues which hamper the developmental issues.
Issues related to ensuing Amarnath Yatra, Sudhmahadev Mela, Sanitation, strengthening of Panchayats, improving roads and transport system were also discussed in the meeting.
SSP Suleman Choudhary, ADC Angrez Singh Rana, Joint Director Planning Rakesh Jamwal, ACR, ACD, GM DIC, PO DRDA, X-En of PHE, PDD, PMGSY, STD, REW, DIO, DIO-NIC, district Officers of all the departments attended the meeting.
