DDC convenes meeting with prominent citizens

JAMMU, Aug 7: To discuss issues regarding maintenance of law and orders in view of forthcoming festivals and Assembly Election, District Development Commissioner Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu convened a meeting with prominent citizens here today. SSP Jammu Uttam Chand was also present during the meeting.
Regarding the issue of protests raised by the people like blockades of road, Deputy Commissioner said that it is a crime punishable under law. He appealed the prominent citizens to educate people that due to these protests the common man suffer a lot and ensure that these protests should not be organized in future.
DDC also discussed issues like violation of master plan, implementation of directions of High Court on different PIL in letter and spirit, ban on noise pollution, ban on sale/conversion of/ construction on Khads and water bodies in Jammu district, safety standards/ norms of commercial buildings viz hotels, restaurants, cinemas, shopping malls, summary revision, etc.
During the meeting, prominent citizens apprised the District Development Commissioner about the problems and grievances faced by the people of the city. The issues which were raised by the prominent citizens were related to check on adulteration of milk and other eatables, sale of banned polythene carry bags and hassle free mechanism for issuance of PRCs.
DDC assured the meeting that their demands and problems will be redressed on the priority basis. He further assured that district administration is very much committed to curb any type of menace in and around the city. He also passed directions to the concerned officers to make a strict vigil to avoid any menace.
