DDC Chairperson reviews implementation of schemes in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Apr 20: District Development Council, Chairperson, Udhampur, Lal Chand today convened a meeting with officers of different departments to review the progress made under various centrally sponsored schemes, flagship programmes being implemented by the Agriculture and allied sectors in the District Udhampur, here at Conference Hall DC Office Complex.
The meeting was attended by DDC Vice Chairperson, Juhi Manhas; BDCs, DDCs, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar, Chief Agriculture Officer, Subash Sharma, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, S. Inderjeet Singh, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Dr Sanjeev Kumar and other officers of concerned departments besides PRIs.
In the meeting, detailed sector wise review was held which mainly includes farm machinery, distribution of quality seeds, Per Drop per crop under PMKSY, Integrated diary development under IDDS, Cattle feed units, Fodder development scheme, Fasal Bima Yojana, KCC, PM-Kissan, Status of different schemes under execution, physical and financial achievements of different departments etc discussed in detail.
The DDC Chairperson asked the officers to put in their dedicated efforts in accelerating the tempo of developmental activities pertaining to their departments so that desired targets could be achieved in a time bound manner. While reviewing the sector wise performance of Agriculture and allied sectors in the district, the DDC Chairperson asked the officers of Agriculture and allied departments to create awareness among the masses about the different income generating schemes by organizing camps in rural areas. He laid stress on enhancing the production of mushroom, honey, saffron, by encouraging the farming community about the cultivation of these crops.
The DDC Chairperson stressed upon the officers to rejuvenate their efforts for achievement of optimum results on the ground so that the benefits of development percolate to the masses at gross root level.
He said that participation in the planning process is mandatory for all the departments for implementation of govt. schemes so that benefits of schemes reach to genuine beneficiaries. He further added that PRIs are acting as a bridge between Government and public and pace of development is increased in all sectors.
