SHOPIAN, Aug 22: Minister for Transport Abdul Ghani Kohli today reviewed the implementation of the decisions taken in the meeting of the District Development Board (DDB) Shopian, which was convened last month under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Kohli, who is also the chairman of DDB Shopian, reviewed the sector-wise physical and financial achievements registered in the district during current fiscal as also the follow-up action of the decisions taken in the last DDB meeting. He sought an Action Taken Report (ATR) from all the concerned departments on the follow-up action taken regarding implementation of these decisions.
Legislators of the district, Deputy Commissioner Shopian besides all district officers were present in the meeting.
The meeting was informed that Rs 85.05 crore are being utilized on development of public infrastructure in different sectors in the district and against the sanctioned plan, Rs 39.67 crore stand released so far to achieve the developmental targets in time.
Taking feedback on the progress of the development works, the Minister emphasized upon the officers to put in their sincere efforts to meet the set targets in time-bound manner besides ensuring quality of works under different central and state sponsored schemes.
Reviewing the progress of power sector, Kohli directed Chief Engineer PDD to install the electric meters in all towns and villages so that people do not face unscheduled power cuts.
Responding to the demands raised by the legislators about their respective constituencies, the Minister directed the officers to take appropriate action for redressing the genuine public interest issues. He also assured them that decisions taken in DDB would be implemented in letter and spirit to bring desired results on the ground.
The Minister impressed upon the district administration Shopian to optimally utilize available resources and manpower for effective and result oriented implementation of various welfare and developmental programmes.
