Srinagar, Aug 29: Militants today fired upon the Personal Security Officer (PSO) of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, outside Deputy Commissioner (DC) office injuring him critically.
Selection Grade Constable Fayaz Ahmad Bhat (Belt number 631/A), son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat, resident of Kulgam was outside office at about 4:40 pm and was shot at by militants from close range.
Bhat was rushed to a nearby hospital from where he was referred to SKIMS Soura here in critical condition.
Militants fled after carrying out the attack. Police have launched man hunt against the militants.
