KATHUA, June 1: Expressing resentment over Union Government, which hiked the price of petroleum products and the Jammu and Kashmir Government which presented anti-poor people budget, District Congress president and former MLC Subash Gupta termed State Budget as anti-common people.
Chairing monthly meeting of party activists Subash Gupta said no initiative has been taken in the budget to address the problems of unemployed and different sections of the society and instead imposed taxes on almost all the items of common use.
He described the budget devoid of any major initiatives to provide relief to different sections of people especially unemployed youth, farmers, daily rate workers, old aged, widow pensioners, further burdening the common people.
“Budget would lead to rise in the prices of almost all essential items of common use and now the hike in  the prices of diesel, petrol and LPG is going to add to the difficulties of the people”, he miffed.
He said with the hollow promises and wrong results of the Government, now the people are realizing what Congress means to them.
Jugal Kishore Bali, Sarpanch Puran Chand, Anant Ram Dogra, Ruldu Ram, Parkash Chand, Bishan Singh Jasrotia, Murari Lal Sharma, KC Bhagat and many others attended the meeting.
