UDHAMPUR, June 6: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Niraj Kumar today visited landslide hit Saddal village and discussed the rehabilitation plan with the affected families.
ADC Udhampur Angrez Singh Rana, ACD Joginder Singh Rai, representatives of Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Ministry of Development of North -Eastern Region, MOS in PMO Dr. Jatinder Singh and district officers accompanied him during his visit.
Pertinently, around 132 families of village Saddal in Moungri were affected due to the landslide which hit the village during September 2014. The rehabilitation plan includes construction of 132 houses, hospitals, schools, community halls, toilets, Anganwadi centres, restoration of land, construction of village roads and development of infrastructure for power supply and potable drinking water.
Detailed consultations were held with affected families over location of their rehabilitation, availability of land, development of clusters and assistance for livelihood. The team of officers from various departments analysed the location of departmental projects.
The DC directed the Forest Department to start plantation drive in the village while the Executive Engineer, PDD was asked to prepare estimates for providing electricity to the affected families currently putting up at Debrah and Mansar. He assured the people of all possible help from district administration.
Later, the DC inaugurated Panchayat Ghar at Lower Meer in Panchari.
