JAMMU, June 6: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma strongly criticized the decision taken and announcement by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and her Ministerial colleagues during the Budget Session in Assembly at Srinagar.
Reacting to the issues, the Congress leader said that the promise made by the BJP leadership to the people of border districts of Jammu and Kashmir to provide 5 marlas plots on safer places is denied in totality by the CM Mehbooba Mufti on the floor of House but the BJP Ministers including MLAs remains mute spectators on this crucial issue.
He pointed out that land for Kashmiri migrants colony which was promised and proposed by BJP on number of occasions during elections even after elections is denied and opposed by the PDP leadership, its ministers including Chief Minister and again BJP remained mute spectator and not a single word has been spoken by the BJP leadership in the House. He said why a colony for ex-servicemen of Jammu and Kashmir is being opposed by some Valley based parties in Kashmir. The BJP MLAs are again silent over the issue.
The soft approach of PDP and confused approach of BJP leads the State towards the militancy and encouraging anti- national elements to destabilize the peace process initiated by the UPA Government who succeeded in curbing the militancy during last ten years of Dr Manmohan Singh Government. He said the policy of Government to bring in and rehabilitate the militants via Nepal route will further worsen situation which already is alarming due to the wrong policies of the NDA Government and PDP- BJP in the State.
Mr Sharma said that the promise made by the DyCM Dr Nirmal Singh to withdraw the VAT imposed on the Heli- tickets to Mata Vaishno Devi within forty eight hours is still in force after a lapse of two years. The issues of Dogra certificates, West Pakistan refugees and the refugees of 1947,1965 and 1971 are not being raised by the BJP leadership, he added.
