UDHAMPUR, Mar 18: Nav Nirman Manch, a social organization, today submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Dr Piyush Singla, seeking action against the private schools violating guidelines of Fee-Fixation Committee.
The memorandum alleged that the private schools were violating guidelines given by Fee Fixation Committee, constituted by Government under the direction of Supreme Court. As per the Fee Fixation Committee guidelines, the schools will charge admission fee not more than Rs 6000 per year and Rs 1000 tuition fee per month. Per year total charge should not exceed Rs 18000, including all types of developmental charges and no further charges will be taken in between the session.
The memorandum further alleged that the schools have been selling books on their own or recommending private publishers instead of NCERT books which are five times cheaper than private publishers. “This practice should be stopped at any cost as this is troubling parents and severely affecting their pocket,” the memorandum urged the DC.
