UDHAMPUR, May 12: Deputy Commissioner, Krittika Jyotsna today convened an interaction meeting with media persons at Conference Hall DC Office Complex.
The meeting was attended by District Information Officer Udhampur Rajinder Kumar Digra, besides media persons representing different print and electronic media organisations. They highlighted different issues being faced by the media and general public of the District.
Detailed discussions were held to ensure better coordination between the district administration and media agencies to facilitate dissemination of factual information through media.
Suggestions were also sought from the media persons for addressing the problems being faced by them in connection with the dissemination of developmental activities being carried out in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC thanked to the media persons and extended her best wishes to them. She added that print and electronic media were playing a vital role in getting public feedback on the implementation of government welfare schemes and other activities. She said that journalists should be aware of welfare schemes and government programmes so that they can report the anomalies which will ultimately help the public at large.
The DC said that the objective of holding the interaction sessions was to ensure that the information regarding the developmental activities in the district can be disseminated in an effective manner
During the interaction, the DC listened to the demands and issues of media persons and assured them all possible help from the district administration.
